Jambiani
Jambiani is a group name for several smaller villages (Kikadini, Kibigija, Mchangani,…) stretching over several kilometers by the south eastern coast of the island of Unguja in the Zanzibar archipelago. Paje is to the north and Makunduchi to the south of this beautiful stretch of coastline where, even to Zanzibar standards, the sand is incredibly soft and the ocean an ethereal shade of turquoise.
It is one of the best places on the island to gain insight into local life as you can see the fishermen return with their catch in the early morning, leaving their dhow boats dotted across the shoreline, and the women tend seaweed farms.

We strongly discourage bringing along and handing out sweets and other on-essentials to the village kids on the beach.
Should you feel you would like to contribute to the local community, Kupaga Villas can bring you in touch with local schools that always need supplies and local families who need clothing.
